BGSU's football program has spoiled us in recent years with MAC Championships. After a 20-year drought, the Falcons won two conference titles in the previous three seasons.

To be fair, it wasn't the first time Bowling Green had to fight through a MAC football funk. Entering the 1982 football season, the Falcons endured 17 years without a conference championship. Bob Gibson won the MAC in 1965. However, Denny Stolz and his '82 squad set out to bring the MAC title back to BGSU.

One of his leaders that season was offensive tackle Vic Cales. The big guy loved football and his faith. As it turned out, Stolz, Cales and the Falcons won their final three conference games highlighted by a win over Eastern Michigan to secure BGSU's seventh MAC Championship.

Fast forward 34 years to early-October 2016, and Cales' daughter Bekah became a Bowling Green pop culture icon and her dad's hero with one kind gesture.

"My friend Jazzi Weber and I were going to surprise my dad, a former BGSU offensive tackle, with his last Myles pizza," Bekah said. "We tried to go (Sunday night), but they closed early. So we got there at 10:30 a.m. today and risked the wait!"

Bekah captured the final line outside of Myles' on her camera.

So, what was so important about traveling an hour from Wauseon, Ohio to Bowling Green to order one last pie?

"My dad is a pastor now. So, he would often do chapels for the BG football team, bringing us to the games," Bekah said. "We would often come to BG to go to football and hockey games and would stop by Myles whenever we came into town. In fact, my dad even has Myles on his phone favorites."

Jazzi and Bekah finally made their way into the iconic pub and placed what would become thee final order. After 39 years, the duo were the last Myles' Pizza customers. Bekah snapped a photo with the legend himself.

"When we brought it home to my dad, he said it tasted as good as the championship in 1982."
