Former BGSU hockey player and 1981-82 season's Hobey Baker Award winner George McPhee was inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987, but on the heels of an historic inaugural season as general manager of the NHL expansion Las Vegas Knights, BG honored him as a Distinguished Alumnus during their annual athletic awards banquet.
