BGSU Eddie George head coach

Watch BGSU football introduce Eddie George as its 21st head coach

Former Heisman Trophy winner and Ohio State Buckeyes running back alum Eddie George was introduced as Bowling Green State University's 21st head football coach in program history Monday. George joins the Falcons after former head coach Scot Loeffler accepted a quarterback coach position with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

George spent the past two seasons as head coach of Tennessee State where he was 24-22 in 46 games. He was named Big South-OVC Coach of the Year in 2024.

During his 9-year NFL career, Eddie George rushed for more than 10,000 yards with 68 touchdowns as a member of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys.

George has very little time to get ready for the 2025 BGSU schedule, which includes games against Cincinnati and Louisville plus a home game with rival Toledo.
